My Story

I became a therapist because I know what it's like to be the one holding everything together and quietly wondering how much longer you can keep doing it. I'm a woman of color who has always been the one who delivers. I know what it costs to be that person — the pressure, the performance, the loneliness that nobody talks about. The way you can achieve everything you set out to and still feel completely unseen.

That's what I bring into the therapy room. Not just clinical training but a genuine, personal understanding of what it means to carry a lot, look capable, and still need support. I've spent time working alongside people in some of the most challenging moments of their lives in community mental health, in intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, and now in private practice. Every setting has deepened my belief that healing is possible for everyone, no matter how heavy things feel right now.

You've spent enough time holding space for everyone else. Let me hold it for you.

My Approach

Therapy with me is collaborative, real, and tailored to you. I'm not going to sit quietly and nod. I'm going to be warm, ask the questions that open things up, and walk alongside you as we figure out what healing looks like for your life specifically.

I use an intentional approach, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I weave in mindfulness practices, motivational interviewing, and DBT skills regularly, and I have completed training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma. I am currently in training for EMDR, deepening my ability to support clients navigating trauma at its roots.

I want you to leave that first conversation feeling hopeful and not overwhelmed. Healing is possible for you, and you don't have to figure out how to get there alone. No matter how great the weight feels right now, you don't have to carry it by yourself anymore.

A Little More About Me

Outside of the therapy room I am a proud cat mom to Lulee, an 8 year old with very strong opinions about my work schedule. If you ever catch a cameo during a telehealth session, consider yourself lucky. You'll likely also catch a coffee nearby, it's a non-negotiable part of my day and honestly one of life's greatest simple pleasures.

I believe deeply that how we take care of ourselves shapes how we show up for others. You'll find me recharging through movement and exercise, reading a good book, or gathered around a table with good friends and a competitive game. I love being out in nature, finding new music, and exploring food from cultures I haven't experienced yet. Travel is one of my greatest teachers and spending a month volunteering in Vietnam was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life, deepening my understanding of community, resilience, and our shared humanity.

Beyond the therapy room I am passionate about social justice, advocacy, equity, and equality. These aren't just professional values for me — they are personal ones. I believe that access to affirming, culturally responsive care is something every person deserves, and that belief is woven into everything I do at Grounded Resilience Counseling.

Those experiences, that curiosity, and those values shape how I show up for you every single session, with humility, authenticity, and a genuine belief that every person's story deserves to be heard.
